Self-introductions were made.
Dennis Mitchell served as facilitator for this meeting.
The minutes of November 7th were approved as emailed.
The goals and objectives from the previous meeting were discussed and prioritized as follows:
1. Identify all communities/neighborhoods within the watershed.
2. Obtain participation from every community, i.e. homeowner association, subdivisions.
3. Development and dissemination of educational information.
4. Adult and child education.
5. Pre-identify ponds, pools and other water sources and access for fire equipment.
6. Reflective road signs on all private roads by landowners, and county roads by county road departments
7. Identify landowners who have fittings for fire equipment.
8. Participation by high schools, with evacuation plan, web page, etc.
9. Assist in the development of additional cisterns.
Additional Members were discussed, with the following suggestions:
v Union Pacific Railroad
v Pacific Bell
v BLM
v County Planning Director
v Community Planning officer
v Farm Bureau
v Volunteer fire departments
v Local middle and high schools
Coordinator Swearingen will be contacting these agencies and inviting them to participate in our organization.
Coordinator Swearingen will contact the Shasta and Tehama county fire departments asking for a list of all volunteer fire departments and a contact.
It was decided to host a “News Blitz” early in May at a local school to show newest equipment, educational pamphlets, etc. This type of function would be open to the public and encourage their participation.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:37. The next meeting will be January 9th, 2002, Dave Loeffler will act as facilitator
