Progress Report Reminder Letter Q5

To: 2001 Community-Based Wildfire Prevention Grant Recipients

From: Arlene Wilson-Grant, Program Officer

Date: April 4, 2003

Subject: Final Progress Report

Congratulations on your participation in and completion of the 2001 Community-Based Wildfire Prevention Grants Program. It has been a pleasure to work with your organizations during the past 18 months and to continually learn about the progress your projects have made throughout the state of California.

As you know, future funding for programs like the Community-Based Wildfire Prevention Grants Program depends upon accurate information about both the successes and challenges from grantees. Agencies participating in overseeing the program, including the Department of the Interior/Bureau of Land Management, California Fire Safe Council, and Sacramento Regional Foundation, are interested in both the statistical impact of the program (i.e. acres treated, dollar value of land protected, dollar value of partnership contributions, etc.) and anecdotal accomplishments. The enclosed final report questions attempt to capture your valuable insight and information about the overall program and your project. Your report will be due to the Foundation office by April 30, 2003.

The final progress report will also provide an opportunity to “tie up loose ends” with each of your organizations. Please submit the following items with your final progress report:

  • Four (4) copies of your final progress report and budget report
  • Four (4) copies of any products generated by this program (i.e. brochures, newspaper inserts, flyers, newspaper articles, etc.). Provide photos of your project and include a photo caption that describes what each photo shows. (If you have the capacity to put your photos on disk or CD, please submit the photos in this format.) If no photos are available, explain why.
  • Unless other arrangements have been previously approved, your project end date is March 31, 2003. Grantees will have 30 days after this date to finalize payment arrangements and to close project accounts. Please submit one (1) check, made payable to the Sacramento Regional Foundation, for any unspent grant funds, remaining cash on hand, and/or accrued interest on the project.
  • If your organization has not submitted a past quarterly report, please submit this information with your final report. Contact the Foundation staff to verify whether you have any outstanding reports.
Please contact me at (916) 492-6510 or awilson@sacregfoundation.org if you have any questions.
