2011 Western States WUI Grants – Call for Applications

CAL FIRE announces the call for 2011 Western States WUI Grant Applications!

Local participation is encouraged in the WUI Grant Program, which focuses on mitigating wildfire risks in the wildland urban interface.

For more information, please see document and application attached to the right.

CAL FIRE will administer the application and review process. California Fire Safe Council will then manage and distribute the grant funds to local Fire Safe Councils, fire agencies, and local government entities who are selected for the grants.

Application due dates:

- July 27, 2010 Fire Safe Councils, fire agencies, and local government entities must submit their applications to their local CAL FIRE Unit or Contract County for review, prioritization and comment.

- August 3, 2010 CAL FIRE Units and Contract County are to submit all applications, in electronic form, to the Region Pre-Fire Coordinators. The Coordinators will comment on and prioritize the applications.

- August 6, 2010 Regions are to submit applications to Jana Luis, Battalion Chief Pre-Fire Coordinator, Sacramento.
