California 2010 Fire Plan

The Board of Forestry released the California 2010 Strategic Fire Plan for a 60 day public review and comment period and you are encouraged to review the plan and provide your productive comments to George Gentry, Executive Officer to the Board of Forestry (E-mail: board.public.comments@fire.ca.gov).

Unlike the 1996 version of the California Fire Plan, this strategic plan is geared towards a variety of actions that strive towards the reduction in the number and intensity of catastrophic wildland fires that are threatening our communities, citizens, watersheds and wildlife on both public and private lands throughout the state.

As you review the plan, please note the critically important role and opportunity that Fire Safe Council's and their community and/or county fire plans have in the process.
